How would i copy all the data including windows files from my smaller hard drive to my bigger hard drive? I want to be able to run windows off the bigger drive and have all my files on the bigger hard drive.

Thanks for any help in advance.

You can use soemthing like Norton Ghost (Most people here use it). It creates an exact image of your current drive onto your old drive.

I had this exact problem today. Use a programme called:

    Acronis Migrate Easy

Its an awesome little programme! Also you get a 15 day free full trial!!! Awesome!!

Acronis also has something called True Image which works like a charm as well. Norton just happens to be more popular, thats why I mentioned it. Acronis is definately easy as pie, though. Good call lecsiy

Although said many times before, Acronis is a far better product than Ghost.
Anyone wishing to argue the point, please read the specs on both before doing so.
Plus as said, using Acronis true image is a piece of p*ss!

I tryed Norton Ghost but got lost with the images, Acronis Migrate Easy was very easy to use you quite literally had a few menus then you were ready to go, Acronis Migrate Easy did everything else all i had to do was press 1 key at the end of the process to reboot and it was completed. Its a very good program for copying all of the contents of a hard drive to another hard drive. I would definately say its a better program for this purpose than Norton Ghost.

Can anyone help me?Just bought a dell laptop.40GB hard drive,no OP system. The person i bought it from said he had Windows xp on it before he switched HDs to sell.I was wondering if i could clone my Dell Dimension 8400 hard drive to my laptop hard drive. My dell dimension is only holding 25GB of software,so it would fit.Would that work with a Data transfer kit?
