there is plenty of crudy software online the promises this but alas it wont work right and unfortunates the windows power management area will only let you run them all or none! uninstall the drivers.....however power will still be running through them although no data exchange right click on my computer>properties>hardware>device manager> IDE/SATA storage devices or such..... then right click uninstall drivers and there ya go you can always get an external enclosure kit!
Theres a few problems with this. 1)Harddrives don't have drivers. 2)If do uninstall the HD's from the device manager the HD's will just be detected and installed on the next reboot. The best way to do this without opening up the case would be to disable 2nd harddrive is to disable the IDE channel/SATA port it is on in the computers BIOS.
