    Hi,

I'm using an AMD 2600+ and I'd like to know if it's usefull to change 1x512Mo@200Mhz DDR to 2x512Mo@400Mhz DDR.
Should I see a signifiant time reduction or is it mainly based on the CPU speed?

    Thx

imo the ram will only show you minor improvements assuming your board supports ddr2.

procoder2 seems to like the ram upgrades more than other encoders where hc & cce should be satisfied w/ the current amount& speed.

yes, the main factor is your cpu's speed, and if your upgrading ram [bold]just[/bold] for encode speeds you may be disapointed.

Yep... I went from 1GB DDR2 RAM@533 to 2GB DDR2 RAM@533 with insignificant encoding time improvements. However, I can open every application under the sun simultaneously with little to no lag... LOL... EDIT: If your FSB is indeed 400 or larger, you should see significant changes going from 200 to 400...
