tonight i did a system restore as my internet was terrible. i could only get on a couple of sites & was unable to download anything. after the system restore i checked my internet & everything is fine now. but all my games, programs etc have disappeared from my desktop & start menu. if i go to all programs, there is a folder for only 1 or 2 games. if i go into these folders there is only a link to a website. i went to my computer & it says out of a 250gb hard drive, there is only 192gb free. so i double clicked the hard drive, went into program files & everything is still there, but nothing is installed. please help me get these back or if i have to reinstall them, help me get rid of all the old program files & folders.. could i just right click the folders & select delete? i would really appreciate some help here. THANKS

You would have to delete your programs properly, go to start>(utilities? not sure what it's called, it's been a while since i used an english copy of XP)>Software, and uninstall them from there.

@ david66 : you do realise that if he does it your way, he'll mess up his windows registry even further?
