    Hi All,

Ive installed Windows 7 ultimate on my 3 year old Sony Vaio laptop (Was Vista). Everything installed perfectly fine but once i restarted the machine the battery indicator was showing 'low battery 0%', as i plugged in the charger the laptop died at the point where Windows 7 was downloading updates. Thinking that this was due to the battery being completely empty but i was wrong it just woouldn't power on anymore.

Tried a new charger no joy. Took out the battery for 20 minutes no joy. Tried just the power cord into the laptop again no joy. My laptop will not switch on, no lights!!!

    what do i do?

    Many thanks

It doesn't sound like a Windows 7 issue. Most likely it's hardware failure or you need to update your BIOS. Obviously, if your laptop won't turn on, then it's hard to update the BIOS. You could try removing all removable devices (hard drive, cdrom, pcmcia cards, etc...) and testing if the laptop will power on.
