Version 5.06 of GoldWave can use the Batch Processing option on the File menu to convert Audible files to mp3 or any other format GoldWave supports.

The GW manual included in the setup file explains how to make GW convert the Audible format.

I can email the setup file to anyone who can receive a 1.6Mb filesize.

    Just let me know...

I downloaded GlodWave V5.14 and 4,95 after reading posts on this forum. It seemed to work but all I get is static, buzzing and morse code, I have no idea how to use the conversion options and I'm going slowly mad.

    Help

Yeah, I know. When I made the post, I hadn't yet tried to listen to the file. Sorry about that.

What I think is going on -- from something I read someone else posted about Audible conversions -- is that the playback speed is way too high. When I used Goldwave to slow it down, it was taking forever to do that. As best I recall, you can only slow it by a certain percentage each time, and each time you get a bigger file. It did seem to be working in the right direction, though.

I know I found a way to convert Audible files a few years ago using Goldwave, but that was before they took that easy method away. I'm not sure now if there is any practical way to use Goldwave, regardless of the version, to convert Audible files to listenable MP3 files.
