warning to all, there is a weird, strange, and yes new encryption on this flightplan DVD, by Disney pictures of american, is region one. tried decrypter/shrink, kept receiving i/o errors, bleh. Grrh. went with fab 5.9.6.6 b2 from FENGTao, softwares, and got another headache, and half. finally, i gave up and opened the window threw it out! this new codes are buzkero and i cant take it no more. this is really gettin' to me, and i cant stand it. Y do the movie studios always pick on us, we just want a backup of our discs!!!!! Free the rights! Fair Use!
All good things come to those who wait. New encrytion schemas and conspirarcy theories are quite common on these forums - they are generally due to operator malfunction or trying to copy yet to be released movies. To date there are no movies that have been released that cannot be copied - be patient and wait for the official release - I'm sure that you will have no problems. You probably have a bad/damaged/incomplete copy.
I just did this movie with ANYDvd and Shrink, the movie came out fine, and their is NO new type of encryption on it, you had a bad disc or operator error was the problem, I even watched it last night and it was fine, not a bad movie, I wish when somebody cant copy a movie they would quit yelling new encryption,
@spareme01 In DVD Shrink go to Edit, Preferences, File I/O, untick the box that reads Enable overlapped I/O-this may increase ripping performance.
If your getting an I/O error with decrypter while trying to rip this flick then the problem is caused by sony ARccOS encryption. Try this: To bypass this just rip with DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 to an .iso image then open the .iso with dvdshrink and process it. Also some other titles if you encounter an error in DVD Decrypter go to Tools---> Settings--->I/O tab then check Ignore Read Errors.
Just finished flightplan.. DvdDecrypter, VobBlanker, Shrink with AnyDVD in the background... No problems. Open Decrypter and change mode to File F. Rip into someplace you wont forget. ex. Flightplan Open VobBlanker.. Input folder > FlightPlan Make a new folder for output ex. Flightplan1 Output folder > Flightplan1 Hightlight VTS_03*.VOB Then below that Hightlight PGC# 02 and 03. Blank them out one at a time.. Click PROCESS.. Once finished proceed with DvDShrink..
Gotta admit, Im a cheap bastard. But after going thru hell trying to do GREAT RAID, and having an immediate problem with Flightplan and The Fog today, finally bailed out on DVD43, and bought AnyDVD. PRESTO.....problems solved. As they keep saying here.....best $40 you'll ever spend.....and now, Im a believer too. =) Used DVD Shrink and Nero as well, just FYI.
I ripped flightplan, fog and great raid with dvdd and shrink. fog would not even rip flightplan and great raid ripped but I get an error when trying to open up these last two movies in shrink. Invalid data for file VTS_03_1.VOB can anyone help me with this mess. P.S.I can play this file in poweredvd just fine and when I try to reauthor the disc the main movie files dont even show up just the extras
Im just curious to know, when using Vob Blanker, how do you guys know which files are junk and un-needed?
. for flightplan [bold]1st[/bold], used DVDFabDecrypter- version 2.9.6.8 - ripped to hard drive (FREE) [bold]2nd[/bold], then used DVDShrink - shrank it so it would fit on a regular sized DVD - but with shrink it will auto burn w/ Nero, so step #3 will now be done for you automatically. (FREE) [bold]3rd[/bold], then used Nero to burn - use the burn engine of your choice - Shrink will auto burn w/ Nero 1,2,3,--- [bold]worked 100%, EVERYTHING[/bold] .
I used Nemises73's method except I did not have anydvd running in the background. DVD Decrypter in file mode, VOB Blanker and then DVD shrink. Using DVD shrink only and it kept locking up or giving me the dreaded cycle redundancy error.
I downloaded anydvd and ran it in the background, used dvdd to ripp (turned off css and leet anydvd take care of this part)then used vob blocker and blocked the files that Nemesis73 said to block then I used shrink on the new set of files and nero to burn worked just fine but sure was a pain to figure out. It seems that there are several people trying to backup Flight Plan, The Fog, and The Cave but are having problems with AnyDVD and CloneDVD2. The problem is that those of you using AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 that are getting errors need to update your software. I understand that most people who backup DVDs do not like to pay for software but if you want a reliable software that is worth every penny then just pay the money and order the newest versions of AnyDVD and CloneDVD2. Once you have these on your machine you should have no problem backing up most any movie. Just go to www.slysoft.com and download AnyDVD and CloneDVD. That will solve ALL of your backup problems.

did the fog flightplan and the cave with shrink and dvd region+cssfree running in the backround make sure that you have the latest version of dvd region+cssfree and you wil have no problems at all
