does anyone know if the haupp.....usb model their number 941 will do analog tapes to dvd? anyone tried this model? Izzy Fla.
I wouldn"t go for anything that uses a USB Interface "UNless" it has a Built in Hardware Encoder....This is because USB doesn"t have enough Bandwidth to transfer Uncompressed Video to your PC to there are Inherant problems with Quality and Audio and Video Sync ect.... So only Get a USB device if it uses Hardware Encodeing which the "PVR-150/250/350" models of the WinTV USB do have But then Non-PVR Models do not have Hardware encodeing in which Case you should avoid them like the Plague.... Cheers
Thanks Minion. tried Dazzle 90. It was useless. Only put thru sound. Finally i wasable to transfer hi8 to dvd -R with the PYRO A/V link with Ulead Video Studio 7 via firewire. I am a rookie at this but the software seems not to be user friendly. A few jitters but i suspect i need to increase my ram from 512. Running an HP pavilion zv6000 with amd athalon 3200 2 ghz/ 60 g hd / ati radeon express 128mb. Any coments would be appreciated.
The Pyro AV Link is a Fairly good Capture Device...It works on the Same principals as the Canopus ADVC-100.... With the Pyro AV Link you should use a Native DV Capture Software like WinDV or Scenalyzer Live to capture directly to DV AVI format and then use a Good software Mpeg encoder to encode the Captured Files to Mpeg-2/DVD Format which you then author to DVD with a DVD Authoring Program.... Ulead Video Studio 7 isn"t a Particularilly good program if the Highest quality is your Goal... Also if you get Jittery playback it is Probably caused from Dropped Frames while Captureing in which case getting More Ram will not Necessarilly help...When Doing Video Capture it is Best to have 2 Hard Drives , One Drive for your OS and Software and one Drive just for Video Capture because you pretty Much need a Dedicated Hard Drive when doing Video capture so you don"t drop frames so Investing $100 on say a 200GB HD might be a Better option than getting More Ram though Getting more Ram can"t hurt....
