I think that there should be a drop-down menu for Forums and maybe Software, but mostly Forums. I have a picture of what it could look like. You can click on General discussion or any other category and it can bring you down to the links(Named anchor/bookmark) or you can move cursor over to next menu and select a category. Just an idea.

    Howdy,

I like the idea, but I'm afraid of few things:

-how can you make the JScript/DHTML thingy compatible with at least FFox 1.0+, IE5+ and Safari... Main reason why I hate adding DHTML :)
-the page loading times could get bit too slow, if each page would contain a good 15k of DHTML code in it.

Additionally, most of the forum pages (namely at least thread_view and forum_view pages) already have a shortcut dropdown for a quick access to other forum rooms.

But yes, I like the idea, I'll submit it to our HTML/layout guy, see whether he has any ideas.

I like that idea but what about people on dial up connections. Other wise good idea :)

sorry but to be honest i hate those type of menus

especially when you want to click on something what is underneath them and you cant because some annoying popup menu is covering it because you accidentaly placed your mouse over the link. then you got to fiddle about moving the mouse off the menu etc.

i know its only a small thing but it really annoys me when websites use this type of menu.

+100 points to ken though for his effort :)

Yeah I see your point, I guess that there's positive and negative things about these types of menus; but it was only an idea.

-Thank you for the points, and I'll figure out what I can buy with them :)
