spent the last half hour searching google and cant find a straight answer ... did a few searches here and didnt see a topic ...

But come February 17, 2009 when we all make the switch to digital, will cable subscribers who have no cable/digital box but have their televisions hooked directly to the wall need a digital tuner?

i kept finding articles saying "only people who use their TV for over the air stations - roof top antenna and rabbit ear users - will need a tuner" ... but then they follow up with "Satellite and Cable subscribers should not be effected, you already have the equipmentrequired"

i have 1 digital box but my bedroom and my kids room do not - jus a simple wall to tv connection ... do i have to rent more boxes?

Afraid so m8 as you will need the extra boxes to decode the digital signal.

if using cable then don't need digital tuner box as only people with bunny ears & antenna tower needs them. the digital box you have now is for the extra channels in the 200's & above.

ddp's word is gold, on this. You can contact your cable provider, and I bet that they tell you that you won't need to do anything.

saw the advertising on pbs by the hosts of "this old house" & "the new yankee workshop" talking about it. only bunny ears & roof antenna need that box not cable.
