Hi. I've just bought 2 Starview"The Box" Boxes but i can't get into the secret menu when i press 1570. Nothing happens. There is 8 vents across the top but other than that the box looks identical to the other starview box i purchased a while back. Is it a clone? I can get into the Menu and it is the same menu as my original Starview box. The software on the box is API VERSION 2.60e, BOOT VER 7 Any help greatly appreciated.
Ok the reason you cant get into the CAS Menu is that you have version 2.60 installed and this wont allow you to access it. You will need to update it You will need version 4.50 firmw@re for THE B0X IRELAND found in "THE B0X" firmware folder. You will need version 4.51 firmware for THE B0X UK found in "THE B0X" firmware folder. You will need the GTromloader, (Starvi*w Software Uploader), found in the Starvi*w software folder of the link. All firmware/loader can be found in the link at the end of my post marked Eamos Library.
Thanks for that Celtic. What about the 8 vents on the Top. My other Starview is 7*25 Vents. Do i have a clone?
I've installed version 4.54 Firmware and the Logo File but the Picture keeps on breaking up and losing signal . My signal strength is around mid 70s but the picture quality is not great. Any ideas why?
As mentioned above , use either 4.50 Ireland or 4.51 UK as they are more stable , Sorry I nenver heard of 8 vents on top , so I cant say if its a clone or not
Strangely, version 4.50 or 4.51 won't work with my box. I can only get it to run on ver 4.54 with the logo file update but more importantly the box is working now. I doubt if its a clone having taken the ver 4.54 software but it works thank god. Thanks again, Celtic.
i to have bought a box and it has 8 rows of vents with 20 slats in each and it had version 2.60 on it. i too would like to know if any one could tell me if this is a clone??
read above posts cos ive never heard of 8 rows on a starview only 7 so what worked for that person in the post above should work for you
i have just spoke with the guy i bought this from and he addmitted that it is a clone. i cannot flash the box at all, i have tried a few clone fixes i.e 2.57 and 2.58 but it doesnt work. can anyone help??
the clone file at the moment is cryptstar core 257 have you tried that and the posts above this the person used 4.54 and he said its working
here is an image of the top of my box if this helps but i have just downloaded that file and tried it and i still keep getting 'flash update fail' im really at a loss here?
thats prob cos your not connected to the box proper what cables are you using cos it comes up flash fail when there is no box connected to it
rs232 cable which was provided and i have also bought genuine boxes befor and have never had this problem untill now. when connecting the box it and it fails the box goes sometimes from display showing'0000' back to 'ON' so i know its trying to do something but what i dont know but its not flashing so its like hitting my head agaist a brick wall.
well if its an rs232 cable thats your problem cos you need a null modem cable db9f to db9f ..... but if you flashed before with other boxes it could be a null modem but an rs232 serial cable will not work
tried a different cable and it worked first time thanks very much but would like to add that people buying from TVgadgets aka sat and cable ltd from ebay http://stores.ebay.co.uk/tvgadgetz-liverpool-and-north-west are selling clone boxes and would stear clear from then. please spread the word. thanks
ok at least you got it working sound as a pound happy days so 20 x 8 vents are the new starview clones ill be on the look out nice one
