Hi I have a friend who was banned from Xbox Live. And he tried the ConfigMagic FINAL 1.6 tutorial to give him a new EEPROM. He followed the guide exactly, and when it was all finished, hard drive was re-locked and everything, he restarted his Xbox.

Now.. the green light flashes and the hard drive can be heard and nothing loads onto the screen. If we tamper about with the buttons, it changed to red/orange.

Maybe I should mention the fact that he has a modchip. We thought this could force boot EvoX or AID 3 to re-install if anything went wrong, but nothing appears on the screen and the disc tray won't eject.

    Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

for the matter of the disc tray, there's a small hole just to the left of the power button, the manual release, use that to get any discs out and you have yourself one big paperweight.

I would have expected at least an error message to display. Even with a hard drive issue, it should have been able to at least display an error message.

It might be worth trying to find a spare hard drive that's unlocked and see if the Xbox will boot at all with that.

hate 2 hear that u screwed up...
however there is hope...least i hope there's hope
first: did u bother 2 back up his hdd?
two:why were u getting him a new eeprom?
three if u answered yes 2 1 then the old eeprom is still on your pc.
four: if three is true then u should beable 2 re-unlock his hdd
    five upon unlocking his hdd
    PUT BACK THE ORIGINAL EEPROM
    reason:
    ...
    ...
the eeprom must not b changed...
the mb etc. of the xbox runs a check on the eeprom
if the eeprom is not correct the hardware is usless
the bottom line...i hope u made a backup of his xbox ...actually u say he did it...so i hope he made the backup...
sorry but i hope u made a backup and goodluck other wise
    ;)
