I have an Asus M2N68-LA Motherboard, and would like to get a new CPU, but am confused as to regarding CPU compatibility with it.

I can't find any info on that board, but all the other boards in the M2N68 line are limited to AM2 and AM2+ CPUs...no AM3 support as far as I know.

The M2N68-LA does not support any AM3 CPUs and only has 95W power regulators, so is unable to support any Phenom II or original Phenom CPUs beyond the 9650.

In short: You need a new motherboard to upgrade your CPU at all.
