Im using nero 6.0.0.9 and suddenly i start getting this problem. When i try to burn a cd a message called unkown burnphase appear. What can i do to solve this?
What burner do youu have? System specs? OS? To determine your system specs; goto Start --> Run, Type dxdiag and click OK. Your CPU (processor), Memory and DirectX version is listed on the System tab. Your video card specifcations can be found under the Display tab under Name and Chip Type. Your soundcard is listed under the Sound tab in the Name field. To determine your make and model of your optical drives; if you happen to have Nero Infotools installed, start it up and under the Drive tab, it will list all the relevant specifications and capabilities of your burner. The actual name of your burner is listed in the drop-down box at the top (those numbers before the name of your burner are important too!). You can get InfoTools from http://www.cd-rw.org/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/nero_info_tool.cfm
I have a p3 1ghz 256 sdram running win xp pro sp1, burning with a LG 12x8x32 CD-RW CED 8120B on nero 6.0.0.9
1. When do you get this error? (all the time no exception, 99% of the time, seemingly randomly, only when burning dataCDs, etc, only when burning on CDRs or CDRWs? etc) 2. Given that it is an LG burner I would hazard a guess that the drive is toasted. hehe LG does not have a very good reputation (and at least not with me). Try erasing a CDRW... do you get a power-calibration error? write to a CDRW.... do you get a fixation error? (all the time no exception? some of the time? etc)
Thx i already solved the problem upgrading nero to 6.0.0.15. I didnt understand the error at all but at least i can burn again
Might I suggest you consider dropping down yto Nero 6.011 instead... that is unless you do not ever want to overburn because Nero 6.015 does not allow you to overburn (because of a bug in the proggie).
I have an Optorite and I use also Nero 6.0.0.9 to burn. I RMA'ed back the drive for some other reason, but ever since I got the replacement drive back, I have been getting this same "Unknown BurnPhase" message in the event log and burn completion message window every single time, even though the burn seems to be fine otherwise. Did your burn process at least go well with that message? Also, where did you get your 6.0.0.15 upgrade? Thanks. _X_X_X_X_X_[small]Peter Newman P4 2.53GHz/768MB/Optorite-2.30[/small]
I can vouch for this one Praetor. @Mastervx "If" you backup pc gaming somewhat on a routine basis then consider a Lite ON 52\32\52x as they are very reasonable in price. Hmmm interesting point you make. In my exp. with LG the <16x burners were good and the >32x were poopy. Didnt get a chance to try the 24x to be honest hehe
