Hello everyone, just wanted to know how to properly convert a video format such as .avi to the format used by dvd players. I am using nero 6, and have a type dvd-r disc. When I start up nero, I click on make a dvd video, then the add list with the audio_ts and video_ts folders appear. I click the video_ts folder to place my files in, and try copying and pasting them into the list. Then I get the message no compatiable file found. The tops says please add your files (.ifo, .vob, .bup) So I'm guessing I have to convert them. I bascially wanna know how to convert them and maybe a reliable software I could use to do this?

If you have the Ultra version of Nero then you should have Nero Vision Express. This is the program that you use to convert AVI files to DVD format.

The option you are trying to use is if you already have the DVD files (IFO, BUP, VOB) already made to burn to DVD video. In your case you do not you have the AVI file.

Go to your programs under the START and find Nero and go threw the list and find Nero Vision Express. Then choose to make a DVD-VIDEO. Then import the AVI files and click nect and folow the directions.

    Hi Bruce90
It's sounds like it's opening Nero Express instead of Nero Vision Express if I'm reading this right ;)

For the avi's yes you will need to convert them unless your player support DivX. Vision Express will do this and burn them too.

    Here's a guide for Vision - it's for 7 but 6 is very similar:
