k this is weird. ok i just downloaded the new versions of dvd decrypter & dvd shrink. I also downloaded a free trial version of any dvd so it can bypass the encryption to this movie that i have. I am trying to burn this "are we there yet." However, i have it in my Hard drive already. Just the movie not the extras and stuff. I reauthored it thru dvd shrink. Now was burning it with the decrypter at 4x write speed with my dynex 8x dvd+r and it was going fine. Until about 54% into it comes up a box saying: Failed to read from file Are_we_there_yet.iso Reason: Data Error(Cyclic redundancy check). And then goes into finish mode with the decrypter and says "OH NO." ALso this is the 2nd time that i have done this and lost 2 dvd+r's in doing so.. Any recommendtion? thx.

    Lisa32,

If you were dealing with an original DVD and received a CRC error, I would say you had a dirty disc. Because you're dealing with a download and received that error, I would say you had a faulty/corrupt file. A CRC error is generally a read error caused by either a dirty laser lens OR disc. Since these don't apply, try using CDCheck to see if the error can be repaired (not likely) OR try for a better download.

    Cheers,

    Pete

I used DVDExpress, and it worked, you should try it.

    Lisa32,

Might I suggest going to the site, downloading the program then going to "Online Help" then reading the section that says, "Using CDCheck". It is what that section is for - showing you what to do . . . . I cannot help you more ~

    lisa32,

Probably the best thing to do - make sure the disc is clean and follow the guide in my sig for Shrink and DVDD. That should see you through.

    Good Luck,

    Pete

I believe it has nothing to do with the cleaning of the disc. Five of my friends has the same problem with this disc. After using Shrink/Decrypter/Smartripper/X-copy/Clone DVD 2 to no avail, I finally got the movie going with Vobblanker and then burned it with Clone DVD 2. Good Luck!!

Hello all. GatlinGun what version of clonedvd2 did you use and also what were your setting set on vobblanker. So far I have had no luck on burning Are We There Yet? and I have tried to many different ways. I have been using the default settings on vobblanker.

I've been reading the threads on "AWTY" and I have experienced the same frustrations to back up my editions. I used all the combinations out there in the threads, however I did find a solution using:
DVD43 and 1Click. It read and ripped with ease. It appears 1 Click did a great job with the Columbia/Sony movie editions.
    Hope this helps.

    GatlinGun & romeo2g,

It sounds like the Settec ALPHA-DVD encryption to me. Next time try AnyDVD, it can handle that encryption with ease.

Here's the link to try a 21-day free trial ~

    Cheers all,
