I ripped Madasgascar using DVDD in file mode and compressing using Recode. I saw James's post. Given that some peopel cam copy this movie(Madasgascar)using DVDD and Shrink and some cannot. When I tried to rip using DVDD and shrink I encountered nothing but problems. I also tried using jaguars and cynthias guides and had nothing but probelms, Just on a lark I tried DVDD in file mode and compressed using recode and had no problems.
Anyone trying to backup Stealth ,read WOLV3RIN3 thread on Nov 10 . I was trying for the good part of two days trying to backup this movie.I read his tread and follow what he suggested and what do you know ,STEALTH I GOT YOU .KUDO'S WOLV3RIN3
Car.Mike, thanks for pointing out that I was referring to Madagascar. Just a comment on Ripguard... If Ripguard is only a blank VOB, then this is stupid. The first version of Sony ARccOS used that type of protection. I pointed it out in the guide I wrote when referring to "VTS_02_5.VOB" of Resident Evil. So if Ripguard is similar to this, then AnyDVD will surely crack it very soon (I know it gets past it, but if you have to blank stuff out, it means it is not 100% figured out yet).
Has anyone found a foolproof way of backing up MADAGASCAR.I have Anydvd, Dvd Decrypter, Dvd Shrink. I have tried backing up with no success. Any HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.I'm able to decrypter,but in SHRINK when I try to re-author, I'm able to locate file and open but when it opens instead of movie title and menus coming up VTS FILE comes up .When file (VTS)is click on it does not open title movie or menu
phillyjak I did the same and had the same results as you did. So I used DVDFab Decrypter and then DVD Shrink. I reauthored and burned only the movie and when I watched it on my dvd player, it locked up 1 second into the movie; however, it does play on the computer's dvd player as well as my portable dvd player. So I did a full copy minus the foreign languages, and subtitles and it appears to play now. Good luck
phillyjak, If AnyDVD and DVDFab both failed, You can check out this guide I posted: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/255980 Note, that this is for manually removing the protection so it will be harder than just using a program like AnyDVD. I have not tried this movie and will not unless if someone gives me the $5 to rent it, or if a friend of mine has it, but the guide should work. This movie is possibly Ripguard protected and not ARccOS protected, so some things may be different. Also, when following the guide, notice that the optional parts are marked. Do not attmp those unless if you know what you are doing. The VobBlanker Step is rather easy, and I would recommend that you at least try that. I have had some people post that the guide worke for this movie, so it should be possible to copy. You can also wait a week or so for AnyDVD or DVDFab to update to fully remove whatever the new protection is.
hcekc, there is a chance your lockup is media or burn speed related. Try burning it again (on a DVDRW), but at 4x and use a quality disc. I use Fuji DVD+RW made in Japan (by Ricoh). These are pretty good and have good reliability when they play back. If it works, you can then tranfer it so a good quality DVDR. I use Fuji DVD+R 8x made in Japan (by Taiyo Yuden). These are the best you can find. If that does not work, you can also try to follow the guide. Stealth should not be a problem.
After hours or trying to Burn Stealth and Madagascar I found out what I needed and thanks to some of the information on this site I got it to work. You need to download the latest version of ANYDVD which is 5.5.4.1 If you have an old version it is not going to work you need the latest version of Any DVD. Once I downloaded the latest version DVD Shrink picked up and burned the dvds with no problem. Thank You ANY DVD.
It would sound incredible but I just bought an ILO DVDR05 recorder and the only movie that I'm been able to record with no problem was Stealth. After that any other recording had being a pain in the B... So I'm returning the unit.
DVDFab Decrypter's latest update version 2.9.5.8 (which is FREE) will rip Madagascar, as well as Stealth.
Hi all, I am also having problems with Stealth,I have used all available proggys here and most of the guides which where very helpful,I have come to the conclusion that mabey its a bad disk? even though it plays on my PC and stand-alone player is that possible?? Cause Skeleton Key is backing up just fine.....
PCDAD, if you open DVDFab Decrypter and click the question mark button at the top right hand corner, what version does it say?
I had to use AnyDVD with Shrink to copy Stealth. I also had to re-author the disk and copy the main movie only. There is something in the trailers that screws up the recording. I also make a copy with Clone DVD too, but I had to check the box in AnyDVD that removes the trailers.
COPY THE MOVIE STEALTH, MADE SIMPLE using The latest version of AnyDvD and DvDShrink without a lengthy book being written. Download latest version of AnyDvd. Start it and let it finish and run minimized in the background. Then start the latest version of DvDShrink, and do what you normally do to burn the movie after it finishes using Nero Burning Software, which automatically kicks in after the encoding anyway, that's it, that is how I did it.
