HC42 widescreen transfer... WinDVD isn't widescreen???

    How can I capture my widescreen footage from my hc42 with windvd??? I can't find an option anywhere, please help, thanks! :)

    it seems now that i have changed formats that it automatically captures in widescreen. :)

    Right...because now, going to DV-AVI, you're not actually "capturing", your "transferring", i.e. full digital data from the tape is transferred to your hard drive without any change. By the way: get yourself a better encoder for best quality going to DVD...

    In general, separate encoders offer better quality and a higher level of control over all kinds of settings than built-in encoders.
    A couple of well-known ones are TMPGEnc, Canopus Procoder Express and Mainconcept MPEG Encoder.
