Ok, i have an xbox which the hd ended up not working. So i thought i could just replace that hd with the same brand hd, seagate, which came from from an original xbox so it has all the files on it which a normal xbox hd should. So i have it installed on cable select and it comes up with the error code 06 which is that it cant unlock the drive. Is there anyway i can get this to work with the hd? Thanks!
You need to unlock the new hdd in the xbox it came out of. There is a fix, check out teamexecuter.com they have a news post about being able to unlock most hdds. But if you have access to the xbox it came out of, just slip it in and unlock it. Then you should have no problem using it in your xbox.
And you can't unlock/lock hd's without running unsigned code..IE: Your box needs to be modded. The link on Teamxecuter is an app that costs money...it can unlock ATA IDe drives w/o eeprom and lock password.
