The XBOX™ dose not, can not & will NOT READ FAT16/32 OR NTFS OR FOR FWIW WINFS!!! The XBOX™ uses it's Perpriotory FATX File Format that by turn your Windows / *nix / Mac can NOT READ!

You'll need to do a HDD sawp and use an EvoX Disto. In order to eventualy can reformat your HDD inside your XBOX™...

i believe you just have to format it in the xbox.

If i've understood right, to swapp to a bigger hdd, you transfer ALL data from C:\ and E:\ to your computer via FTP, then you unlock your old xbox disk (optional) then you put the new one in your xbox and it will start fomatting it (i've heard in another forum, may not work). Then transfer ALL files back to it, i'm not sure if the xbox creates a C:\ and a E:\ out of it, but in some way other peoples has made it...

This means that you CAN read/write from the xbox hdd with your computer, but it's a litle tricky...

After all, there sure is applications that can do the most of it for you. (You will have to do the hdd swap your self.)

The simplist way to do it, is to:

    a) Get a Modchip any Modchip!! install it and use the proper Cracked Firmware Image for your Model XBOX™ (i.e. v1.0 to v1.6a/b)

    b) Download either Slayers 2.x FINAL or Autoinstaller .XISO Image, and then burn that to a CD-R\RW or a DVD±R\RW. Insert that Disc into your XBOX's™ DVD-ROM Drive. Then cycle the Powerswitch. To boot off the CD or DVD that you just burned. There will be an option to reformat your Drive, choose that and it'll format your new Drive for use on the XBOX™ as well as installing any Files that you might need.

If you have anything worth saving on the old HDD you can use a GSH to FTP those Files to your PC (e.g. the E:\Drive),. You can update the M$ Dash (if need be), by executeing a UPDATEDASH.xbe File which you can find on any XBOX™ Live! Game Disc or on the Fourth StarWars Trilogy DVD Box Set...
