Hi, i have the old HD from my modded xbox. I would like to put it onto my PC. I connected the HD to PC but the PC doesnt detect the HD. How can I fix this? ThX
You'll need to send your old HDD bac to your XBOX™ to be unlocked. To do this simply enough you'll need a Modchip and a CD/RW with a copy of 'ConfigMagic' in the root directory (i.e. the program contents and the default.xbe should not be in any directory but directly) D:\ is Root - D:\ConfigMagic is not Root! get it?? you might have to create a dummy file (it can be anything so long as it's a very large File say +100MB's. Just swap the Drive out and HDD and reinstall the old Drive then inset your CD/RW (CD-R's will not likely work! You are of course welcom to try!), into the XBOX™ DVD-ROM Drive. Then cycle the power, then hopefully if everything is golden you should have booted into 'ConfigMagic' just follow the on-screen instructions to unlock your Drive. Turn your XBOX off and then you can remove your the HDD and rebuild your XBOX™. Take the old 10Gb HDD to your PC and the you can format it back to NTFS of FAT32. Will have to do this to use the Drive, as it may well now be unlocked but it's still in the XFS (XBOX™ File System), and not unlike Apples HFS+ File System. Windows can not will not easily read it. So just format it and then you should have a new 10Gb Drive to mess around in. Just note that the above will only work **IF THE HDD IN QUESTION CAME OUT OF THAT XBOX™! If it came from some other XBOX™ you never saw (i.e. you got it from eBay, Friend at-al) you'll need there XBOX™ to unlock it as the factors that make up the 'HDD Key' like the S/N are not going to be identical. So unless the Dirve in question came out of that XBOX™ net to you. You really only have one choise lef to ya and thats to chuck it!
