i was wondering if hd loader is expected to work fine with PS3. can you take out the pre-installed HD from the PS3 and put your own bigger one in?

Yes, i read an article on ign that sony said you can replace the hard drive with one of your own but it has to be a 2.5" SATA drive which are prety expensive right now. I dont know why they used laptop hard drives.

I pretty sure hd loader won't work on the ps3 one reson being that the system software that runs the HDD will differ from the ps2's

but they could always make a hd loader ps3 ver. ....maybe

I bet will see some mod to run ps2 games and maybe even ps3 games soon. But it will have to be some flip top or something because the ps3 sucks in the disc.

"I dont know why they used laptop hard drives."

If I had to guess I would say they use laptop hard drives in the new consoles because they are smaller and more quiet than a standard HDD.
