I just bought an hdtv by Magnavox and when I connect it to my pc I get an almost pixel perfect image. Problem is when I open Windows Media Player the screen goes black and I can't see the movie playing. I'd like to watch them on this bigger set. My HD screen also goes black when playing PS1 games on PS2. No sound problems though.
What video card do you have? most of the time you need to go to display properties, click on settings, then on advanced there should be tabs there click on displays and select tv as the output that should do it, if you have a nvidia card you can disconnect the vga/monitor reboot with the tv already selected and it always boots to the available display. make sure to get the most recent updated drivers for you video card. Let me know if any of this works and what card you have if it doesn't work so I can help you better.
Thanks for the help. I have a notebook and I went under advanced in settings and went to display and switched from my internal monitor to my external monitor and the picture came up on my HD instead of my notebook. I guess it's too much of a hit to display both at one, so it can only display video on one monitor at a time. At anyrate, it works so thanks a lot.
