Ok, I'm sorry if I post this in the wrong section...I have a Toshiba Satellite M45. I accidentally detele a program and some files that wasn't suppose to be deleted. My HD used space is about 16GB when I checked. I used "System Restore" to go back but it doesn't work out so I undue it so I can returned to my current setting. After that I went and checked and saw that the used space is at 31GB. I don't get it so I've searching for answer and now here posting the problem. Can anyone help? I have already check the C:// but nothing was different. I'm kinda mad right now...15GB lost...?? I have a 60GB HD so it doesn't leave me much space. That's why I'm worried. Any help will be appreciated.

Empty your temp files and Internet temp files, under Documents and Settings, under your name and under Local Settings.

Local Settings is a hidden folder, so you have to change your Windows settings to see them.

Once you delete those files, reboot, and see if your space is back.

I tried it and failed. Clean everything. Even ran disk defragmenter. The Spaced used is reduced by 75MB of my 15Gb...That's a start. :( (I've already tried CCleaner)

go thru all the folders & do properties on them to see the size of the folder. did that on a customer who has a 40gig hd with 4megs left on it but had lots of room back in march. found a folder by hotbar with shoppers reports in it. deleted that folder & she gained 32.5 gig of hd space. she was happy with that.

if you hadn't, goto tools in windows explorer, folder options, view & show all files.

did you get a recovery cd with the laptop or do you have a windows cd? if have a windows cd & no driver cd's than go into device manager & write down what devices made by whomever like videocard, netcard, modem, sound, ide controllers so can get latest drivers from those manufacturers not laptop manufacturer. find that info & will continue tomorrow as going to watch csi miami. class out.
