I hope the xvid forum is the right place for this ? I didnt see a X264 forum anywhere . I am having problems playing high defintion X264 , bitrate around 4000 kbs. The video skips , and the audio is out of synch . I have a 2.2 ghz with 700mb of ram pentium 4 pc , 32 bit windows xp home edition . I also installed Coreavc [ the codec for X264 ] Anyone know if it is possible for me to play HD X264 Video on the pc that I have ? Or a cheap way to upgrade my pc so it will be capable of playing X264 Video ?
Coreavc is about the fastest AVC decoder available. In fact probably the fastest. If you purchased the pro version, then I believe in the future it will be getting hardware support, so if you have a recent video card, then it would take some of the load off of the CPU. Not sure the time frame though.
I have a' SiS 650 ' Video card The main Driver is ' SiSGRV .dll ' version 6.14.0010.2160 The Video card is the one that came with my pc 2 years ago . I got The HD video working , by tweaking my pc , and restarting [ a pain in the ass ] before I play it . I also have to close down anything else that is running . would useing a differant driver cut down on some of the memory usage when watching X264 ?
I'd suggest an AMD X2 or something to that effect. CoreAVC 1.1 is supposed to be out I think in around 1 month. Still I don't think will offer hardware acceleration though and you would need at least an X1300 or equiv nVidia card.
