I have been having a lot of problems trying to back up my DVD's. After burning a movie to DVD, I find that my HDD's file structure is corrupt and I can not access it. Which in return requires the nice lengthy format and restore process. Also, the burning process, although it says successful, was not. This only happens to movies that have copy protection on it. I have not had any problems non-protected movies. At first, I thought it was my software that was responsible for it. I was using DVD43 DVDShrink Nero 6 I then switched to.. AnyDVD CloneDVD2 It still does it. Any suggestions? I wondering about a worm. I have run various spy, ad and virus programs that come up with nothing. My system is: P4 2.4 GhZ 512 X 2 Kingston Ram 40 G Western Digital HDD 200 G Western Digital HD DVD ROM - LiteON DVD +-RW - Sony DRU-720a Thanks...
Hello and Welcome to Afterdawn. Did you remove the DVD43 completely from your HDD?? I had some conflicts because I didn't completely remove it from my computer. Where are you getting these unprotected movies from?? Sounds like a virus, worm, or spyware that has taken up home on your computer. What programs are you using to scan for worms and viruses and spyware??? Also during your burn are you running any other programs??? Burning DVDs eat up a lot of CPU power.
Thanks for the reply. DVD43 was removed using the Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs Nothing was running in the background. I remember the problems that I use to have trying to burn cd's when I was running other programs. I am using these to look for the worms and stuff. SpyBot Search and Destroy 1.4 AdAware Se 1.06r1 Norton Antivirus 2005 and another on-line antivirus/worm program from my ISP. The DVD's that I'm burning successfully, are just home movie stuff...
