pc bought two years ago compaq presario sr2180nx moved put the pc in storage took out the hdd placed it in another computer got to read as storage thrhough another vista system left it like that 6-7months finally moved out put it back in original tower (couldnt remeber if there was supposed to be a pin any of the options on hdd) but regardless something happened to the drive in the other vista pc becasue it wouldnt let me boot up or run any repair software said i didnt have permission came to learn i couldnt fix it so i restored system! (also other vist pc had issues drive failed completly it was banged around mine was alos in during this incedent) so before i ran restore i ren th cheesy hp scan tool on the hdd just to ease my mind and it passed all tests so a week later after fresh install no problems at all finished installing evything i needed and then i ran a simple ccleaner and used regestry then shortly after hdd failue popped and i tried to run chk disc and it freezes during step four of five the cheesy hp scan tool reports smart error evything else is fine why would it be fine one day then a couple days later its failing? and drivesmart just gave me this error id attribute name failed date threshold value worst status 05 Reallocated sector count 12/07/08 140 105 105 failed
