So I am really at the end of my rope here. I am probably viewed as less than even a newbie here as I have little or no knowledge of computer software or xbox mods and programs. I do enjoy working with comps. but I just don't get much about them. I have had the unfortunate experience of having a modded xbox totaly jacked up by allowing someone to try to work on it for me. I have been trying to fix this problem now for some time and after hours of reading forums, different threads, asking questions on many different sites, downloading several programs that I can't even figure out how to use, becoming infected with viruses and having to wipe my drive, springing a leak from my GPU water block and having to fix my system and still setting here with an xbox that just gives me an error code while booting with the chip off and shows me an evox dashboard with it on, with absolutely nothing left except the system settings after the dashboard loads. I have been trying to unlock this drive to put it into my system as it appeared that would be the best thing to do after my "friend" apparently deleted all files from it and trying to put everything back on it seemed to be a lot of work. However I must say at this point I don't care what I am able to do with this as long as it is something more than just setting here looking at me. I am just hoping someone out there has enough time, patients and knowledge to help me get this hard drive to working for me no matter if it is in the xbox or in the pc though the pc was what I was shooting for. Thanks for whatever anyone may be able to input or contribute to my problem.
so wait, your saying that you can still boot a dashboard witht eh chip turned on though? Because if this is true this is easily repaired problem.
Yes I believe so as upon turning the xbox on I still get the xbox logo with the evox in the top left corner and the white microsoft underneath it. Then it goes to a screen that has evolution x in the background rotating and all the normal listings in the front ie: Multi-Media and Xbox Games and so forth. I just don't see anything else in any of these except for some red writing in some listing things as XBOX DVD PLAYER and XBOX Media Center and so forth, but none of them are accessible except for the system settings. I do so hope you can help me as I stated I have downloaded config. magic but have no clue how to use it as well as flash fxp, but it keeps saying connectin and then that it fails and even if it connected I would still probably not know what to do. I have avalaunch because some people said the flash program had conflicts with the evox, but don't know how to make an ISO to load to the xbox. I downloaded Quix, disk juggler and Nero as well as XBOX Iso Transfer and a few other programs, though I am not sure why as upon completing the download I was reminded of how little I know about computer software. Anyway I am sure I answered your question by now about the dashboard. I just wanted you to understand my knowledge of operating most computer programs before you attempted to explain things to me with the understanding that I know anything abouth anything. alright i want you to downlaod something called auto installer deluxe 3.0 burn it 1x speed to a dvd, and boot it up, itn will have many options, go to the install dashboards part. Reinstall your evox dash board and your M$ dashboard. That should fix it.
Hey, Thanks for the info. I didn't know where to get the program from and all I have been able to locate so far are torrent files, so I am just waiting for this one to download. If you have any info. on where to get it from could you pm me or email me at elucas0012003@yahoo. I tried to download it from another p2p program but it kept telling me there was a file corruption and my antivirus kept picking it up, so I never got it downloaded from that program. It appears also that this torrent I started downloading may also be from the same place, though I am not sure if it is the same corrupted file. I will possibly just wait on you to reply, rather that chance a virus. Anyway thanks for the help and I hope to hear from you soon.

Awesome, I went to the site suggested and now have downloaded it the program (alot faster than the torrent also). I also noticed an update of sorts, but didn't know if this was also needed. I did download it, but haven't unpackaged it. I am looking at the auto installer packaged right now and hoped you could walk me through the steps to get it onto the dvd in the format needed for the xbox. I hate to keep asking for instructions but I really don't know what I am doing here and am looking forward to getting this taken care of finally. Thanks again for the help.....
