So i understand there are 2 ways: -usb and the compatibility sucks -special ide cable(Hd Connect) soldered on the ps2 mb Also i heard you can solder this cable only for v12 and v13. Is it true? And about the software ..Which one is best? I hear dms4 chips have a soft called toxic os and that is better than hd loader/hd advance.. Also, regarding hd loader or hd advance some dude told me it has to be some patched versions to work with that hd connect cable. Anyone uses it?Is the compatibility the same with the normal version ?
Wish i knew. But i don't have an HDD on my PS2 But USB on a slim is your best bet, and from what i hear the compatibility is not great, like 75% or so with USB Extreme. The DMS4 Pro chip does have IDE HDD support and has their own version of HD Loader right in the program. And it is said to be better than HD Loader. Go here to read the fetures. http://web02063.prolocation.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11209 the official Toxic website is under construction so i can't link you to the full review of features.
So i must get a few things clear.. 1.Hd Connect, will it work only on v12 and v13 ? ( i hear ide soldering points have been removed starting with v14). 2.Toxic os, is only on DMS4 Pro or is it in the Lite also? 3.If mod is other than DMS(internal or swap) ,you have to use a patched version of hdloader or hd advanced.Do those even exist and where can i find them ? ===================================================================== Check out this custom made case for Hd Connect (not the XCM one ..this one really owns ) http://www.hdcombo.com/cgi-bin/hdcombo/site.pl?page=specs
