i would go with sata, but i wasnt aware that xbox motherboard was compatible with sata drives! guess you learn something new every day!
i think what he was trying to say is, "is the sata even compatible? and if so, which hdd is better, the sata or eide". I have the same question and any help is appreciated.
EIDE (Western Digital) Product Height 1.02" Product Width 4" Product Weight 1.6 lbs. Product Depth 5.78" Internal or External Internal Drive Capacity Up to 250GB Drive Connectivity Ultra ATA/100 Rotation Speed 7200 rpm Data Transfer Rate to/from Interface Not rated Average Seek Time 8.9 ms Cache Buffer Size 8MB Average Latency 4.2 ms SATA (Westen Digital) Product Height 1" Product Width 4" Product Weight 1.3 lbs. Product Depth 5.8" Internal or External Internal Drive Capacity 160GB Drive Connectivity Serial ATA Rotation Speed 7200 rpm Data Transfer Rate to/from Interface Up to 150MB/sec. Average Seek Time 8.9 ms Cache Buffer Size 8MB Average Latency 4.2 ms I was told that you could not use an SATA HDD in an Xbox
i dont believe the motherboard on the xbox was designed for sata drives, they came out after sata was created! to be on the safe side, stick with ide and dont waste your money!
