I have read a lot of posts about swapping out with a bigger hard drive that is soft moded - However my XBox is modded with the Executer2 chip

is the process to upgrade the hard drive to a bigger one different

I have the tools like XBOXHDM - which I assume I can use.

Anyone know a good tutorial for XBOXHDM

same applies to me. Is there any way of upgrading your hard drive by just swapping them around in the x-box i.e. no computer involved. Finally what restrictions on the hard drives that you can use are there?

You can install a new larger hard drive quite easily to a hard modded xbox.

The drive size limit is over 2 Terrabytes, so you can grab yourself any size drive and it will work.

You can check this list of lockable xbox drives, which may help you decide which hard drive is best for you:

    http://xboxdrives.x-pec.com/

The only time you need a PC is really to copy your saved game progress , high scores and maps over to the new larger HD.

Its recommended you get an Auto Installer Disc such as the one TheReturn has linked to on his page or a DISC like SLAYERS you can google for SLAYERS Auto Installer, and you will find plenty of links.

Also it is recommended you UN-LOCK the hard drive you are removing from your xbox so you can use this drive in other xboxes or in a PC.

ok so let me get this right

I have done the hotswap where as I boot up xbox and when the xbox logo appears unplug the ide cable from the hbox and stick it in the pc and run xboxhdm ( done this to recover a full hard drive)

so I assume I can do the following

as above with existing xbox hard drive and a new hard drive in PC and run xboxhdm and clone the hard drive from one to another and then I assume the extra hard drive space will be recognised by the xbox as the F drive

correct me if I am wrong
