OK, I have searched high and low and maybe I am just not looking in the right places. But it seems that most of the older guides about HDD upgrades in soft-mod systems talk about modding the drive and writing zeroes to them or using hex editors to modify the drives prior to install. Is there a way to upgrade the HDD without a modchip and without having to get a hex editor and doing all that jazz I've read about? Please help! (I am trying to upgrade to a 80GB drive - should be more than adequate for me.) P.S. can I play online (not Live) such as on a LAN with a soft-mod system? Form the hard drive?
Hey, check out xbox-scene.com. They have a thread called xboxhdm for dummies that is very helpful. You can use the program xboxhdm to easily upgrade your hard drive space. Yes you can still link up with friends and what not. You can play xbox live also if you hook up your retail hard drive. Hope that helps. -Brice
