Does anyone know if it is possible to use a (CodeBreaker, GameShark, or Action Replay) to fool the HDLoaders into thinking that a backup game is a valid ps2 disk?

    Your reply makes no sense.

Perhaps I am not making myself clear.

Alright let me paint a picture for you.
I put in my CodeBreaker V7 for ps2
    Load a game called HDLoader
If I can find the right memory range code to force the ps2 disk validation part of the HDLoader code to stay at true then when it asks for a game disk put in my HDLoader disk and install the backup game. Theoretically this should work but now I need to find the appropriate code so that I can fool my HDLoader.

ok, if you want to put a backup DVD game on the harddrive, those programs will not work. Swap magic dvd is the best way to do it.

once hdloader loads, hit eject and put in swap magic dvd. click install, disc SHOULD stop spinning (at least mine does), then you swap for backup and install.

Alright I have made some progress.
The HDLoader from http://hdloader.com/ is set to verify a ps2 disk as part of the application; it does not get this instruction from the ps2 bios. If I can isolate the memory range of that part of the HDLoader then I can suppress its ability to verify ps2 games and effectively have the ability to install a burned copy. The difficulty comes in when trying to find the part of the code that deals with the ps2 game verification process, in order to isolate that code I need to be able to export the currently running memory ranges to a utility like (Game Software Code Creator (GSCC)) from http://cmgsccc.com/dl/index.php?item=1. So far I have hit allot of dead ends as the utility I found on cmgsccc.com only works on the PS1, but I am getting closer.

Dude i have HDLoader and you can install backup games. Your PS2 just needs to be able to run backup PS2 games from CD\DVD. Yes, I installed Virtua Fighter 4 onto my HD, and can play it with HDLoader flawlessly. And I burned VF4 to a cd, since it's too small [about 500 MB] to fit on a DVD. Why waste the extra space when u can burn to cd and waste a lot less than a DVD?

Also, if you're going to burn ps1 or ps2 games, use DVD-R disks. -RW, +R and +RW are OKAY, but they tend to not be as fast as DVD-R, and can screw up easily, since RW disks are really only meant for your own files or testing out copies of stuff [to see if u burned it right, etc] , and +R disks suck for ps2 games, since they're meant for Movies, like meet the parents, for example.

Also, if a game is smaller than 700 MBs, and will fit onto a regular CD-R [not RW!], then just use that. They work just as good as blank DVD's. and PS1 games work better when they're burned to CD-R, not DVD. I have no idea why, but I think it's because all PS1 [and some earlier PS2 games like godai elemental force] games are burned to CD, and not DVD, like most PS2 games.

Hope the above cleared up all the confusion. Ask me if you have any questions about your PS2, modchips, etc.

And read my signature if you want to know my PS2, modchip, etc.

I do not have a mod chip and do not plan on modifying my ps2 (other that the HDD and network adapter). When I try to install a burned ps2 game I get a message from my HDLoader "this is not a valid ps2 disk" and it will not install, I am trying to suppress this message with my CodeBreaker V7. I want to find a way to do this without a mod chip.

I have a fliptop and was wondering if you can install Backups with HDloader on to my HD. I tried to do that swap magic DVD/CD and then switching out for the back up while hdloader asks for the game name, but seems to me like hdloader freezes at initating game install

    load hd loader
    eject, insert swap magic dvd
    select install
swap for backup (you need to swap before the game name screen)
select install (or something like that, i cant use mine at the moment)

There is a utility called "HDLdump" that allows you to rip ISO'S or backed up games to your ps2 hard drive. One issue is you have to take out your ps2 HDD out of your ps2 and connect it to an IDE cable in your pc in order to install games, but after you put the HDD back into your ps2 it recognizes any games you have installed.

yeah but the problem is when you hit install the HDloader checks the game to see if it's original or not
