I recently bought a 57' Hitachi HDTV Ready projection TV (C57-WD8000), Samsung Upconverting DVD Player with HDMI (HD860) and finally a JVC HDMI AV Cable (VX-HD115). Tuesday evening I hooked everything up and it worked fine. Now I did leave something out, that JVC HDMI cable isn't the first one I bought. About a week or so ago I had another cable (low budget) and when I hooked eveything up it worked fine (for an evening). Two days later when I put the DVD movie in I got the same problem that got last night night. I set the TV to HDMI and screen is blue and flickering non stop. I hear the sound of the movie, but the picture is not there. When I first got this problem about a week or so ago, I figured that maybe the cabe was damaged; even though nothing happened between the 48 hr span from when it was working. I took the cable back exchanged it for the JVC with no problem. Which now leads me back to Tuesday and last night. I tried to put in Predator to see the 1080i picture of this flick. But all I got was blue flickering screen and sound. Can anyone help??? And even more, how can it work one day fine and like this the next?????
Have you tried unplugging the cable and plugging it back in or wiggling the hdmi cable at each end while its connected to the hdtv or the upconverter. Maybe one component has a bad hdmi input or output. Also I have heard of some tv's having weird hdcp issues that made it so that the devices had to be turned on in a certian order, but this was with older generation tv's.
Oh yes, almost everything. I've unplugged, disconneted, wiggled, reversed the cables and it all leads to the same outcome - blue screen that flickers. Any idea what that blue screen is?? I tried to reverse the way I turn everything on and nothing either. I think the thing that has me the most is the fact that it was working fine the first evening then 2 days later the blue screen. Any more ideas???
