I have been reading about others with some trouble with AV/C Tape Subunit Device issues. I have Win XP SP1. So I have installed the Sony DVHS driver. This took care of the yellow ? in devices. I use Sony Vegas 5.0 If the camera is set to HDV fire wire out you have AV/C as the video but it is not active. Change the camera to HDV to DV out on the fire wire output and bingo you have DV capture just fine. Any clue as to how I get the AV/C active so I can capture at 1080i. JStigler
I am now recording HDV from the HC1 camera. The AV/C business was not the way to go. Turn off the external capture pgm like Vegas 6.0 help describes for HDV capture and you can then select your camera and 1394. Select capture from tape and it works. You get a m2t file. You can tell the camera to ouput DV and take in an AVI file from your HD recording. Huge learning curve here. Just getting started. JStigler
