I have a 42" flat screen Sanyo LCD HDTV. The TV has a HDMI input 1, 2 and 3. It has video 1, video 2, and video 3, and an S-video jack. The HD DVR is a Motorola HDMI dual tuner DCH6416. The DVD recorder is an Emerson EWR20V4 DVD -R/-RW. Please help me to figure out what goes where to have it all in working/playing/recording order. I would like to use the HDMI cable also. Thank you so much.

Hmmm. Well the DVR probably has an HDMI output that can be plugged into one of the tv's HDMI inputs. The DVD/VCR only has component, composite, and S video outputs. To watch DVD's in progressive scan you will need to connect the component output (Y, Pb, Pr) to a component input (plus the audio cable Red White. While the VCR will need to be connected with a composite or S-video for video, and another red white for audio. Unless the DVD/VCR has a QAM, and/or an ATSC receiver you wont be recording anything.
Is the HD DVR a cable box?

The HD DVR is a Direct TV satellite box, and the VCR/DVD is a recorder. Thank you for your response and helpfullness.

Well you will not be able to connect the satellite box through the DVD/VCR, and the DVD/VCR only has RF inputs (coax) for signal recption. So you will only be able to use the DVD/VCR to watch DVD's, and VHS tapes (and record tape to dvd/dvd to tape).
