ok i got a samsung hdtv with 2 sets of componet in, 1 hdmi in and one optical out. I'm gonna get an onkyo HT system but don't know if i should just get the one with componet out puts or pay the extra $200 for the one with 3 HDMI out puts. It has 3 optical out puts also. I'll be using a TW HDTV DVR box also. Which should I get and what would be the best set up. The more expensive HT system does come with a DVD player that can be hooked up with HDMI. The only other thing I'm gonna use is my PS2 or 3 when I get one.
I also have a Onkyo HT (H-I-B system though) , hooked up to my LCD TV. My receiver of course does not have any HDMI inputs. It does though have 3 Optical outputs. I prefer using the optical outputs, instead of the component. Sounds better to me.
Here are the two systems. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-vWbdyLuOdKP/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=37700&I=580HTS894 http://www.crutchfield.com/S-vWbdyLuOdKP/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=37600&I=580HTS790S you still have to use the componets for the video portion correct. If I was to use the HDMI does that carry audio and video in one cable?
