I have a sony viao ar190g with a HDMI port and was wondering, if I bought a HD cable box with a HDMI port would I be able to connect it to my laptop, and would the video quality be better than a s-video plug and how much better? Also exactly how would I do this and what programs would I need?
a hd box would be great but not many channels are hd yet,i will wait about 6-8 months before i will consider buying
What you're proposing won't work. The HDMI port on the Viao ar190g is an OUTPUT. You use it to connect your laptop to an external display like an HDTV or an LCD monitor.
