HDTV tuner...

    if i bought a hdtv tuner could i use it on any tv or just those that are hd ready?

    Any tv. If the tv is HD capable then you will be able to see the HD shows in full resolution. If the tv isn't an HD tv then the broadcasts will be limited to 480i (SDTV) or 480p (EDTV).

    You see the tuner is a Digital TV tuner not just and HDTV tuner. All digital tuner have Composite and S-Video ports that output 480i signals for older analog tvs and SDTVs as well as Component Video and HDMI/DVI ports for EDTV and HDTV.
