I just bought an xbox 360 and connected to my RCA HD-ready TV using the component video cable set. The TV is 1280 x 1080i, 52" CRT, rear-projection, model# D52130. So I went into the display properties on the xbox dashboard and set it to 1080i but then the picture went out. Then I tried 720p and that didn't work either. The only resolution setting that works is 480p which I believe is the same as a standard definition TV. Am I doing something wrong? Do I have a lousy TV or is there something wrong with the xbox?

Verify that the switch on the console end of the Component HD AV Cable is set to HDTV.

Then look to your TV's settings. No HDMI I presume?

There's actually nothing in the TV's menus to tell it that it's hooked up to an HD input, so nothing to set there. No HDMI either, I'm using the component video input.
