    Hi all,
My brother just bought a SONY KV-32HS420 with pretty good price. I'm just wondering if this model is HDTV or not.

This is HDTV ready. How much did your brother pay for it? Though it doesn't support progressive scan, it does upconvert a 480i signal to create images 4x more dense than the original images(DRC).

So why the original price is high? $999 at Bestbuy and Circuit City.

Thats not really high. There are very few TV's out there that are HDTV compliant. Loads of them will play HDTV formats, but very few are actually 1980x1020 in resolution
