Sorry I would not know, but when you get your HDTV and have a look please let me know as I am thinking of going to HD myself.

    Cheers

I have a 52" hdtv and folders with 60% compression level still look unbelievably good. The main movie always looks good but sometimes the extras don't turn out as good. It has a lot to do with the bitrate of the main movie vs the bitrate of the extras. I guarantee no transcoding program will do a better job.

I second Mort's input. I have used both CCE and HC for encodes down ot the mid 50% range. I have a 52 inch HDTV, and the results are amazing! I use CloneDVD2 for encodes in the 90% + range and Recode2 with advanced analysis for encodes down to around the mid 70% range with great results as well...

I owned a 55" Widescreen SONY HDTV and I'm with buddy Mort on this. For movie(s) with 69% or less on the "Video Quality" (meaning more compressions needed), I used nothing but DVD-RB Pro v1.09.3 + CCE SP 2.7, and for movie(s) with 70% or higher on the "Video Quality" (less compressions needed), I used Nero Recoded 2 with "Advanced Analysis + High Quality Slow Recording".

You'll be amazed and surprised how those backups with DVD-RB Pro + CCE SP turned out and played it on any 50" or higher HDTV.

Just got it and you guys are absoutly right, as far as i can tell on 60 percent compression its pretty damn close to the orginals.

    Thanks again!!

I knew you'd love it. RB with its encoders is excellent! There's nothing better!
