hi, i've got an acer aspire 5100 laptop (it sucks basically but im stuck with it for a while), and sadly my motherboard has an integrated graphics card ati express 1100. i was thinking about changing the motherboard, i want a motherboard that does NOT have an integrated graphics card so i can buy a graphics card and install it. my current processor is an amd turion X2 dual core (64), i was also wondering if intel processors are better than amd??
but anyway, moving in, i dont need a really expensive motherboard, in other words, it doesnt have to be the best one out there, i also dont want it to be really bad though, something medium would be good. im hoping someone can help me find the right motherboard that will cover what i need, and also still be compatable with my current hardware.
    thanks in advance

Can't be done - laptop motherboards are usually specific to the computer. Live with what you've got until you can afford to replace it.

i have a desktop, its pretty nice, but im trying to get rid of it because its not very mobile... and i dont like gaming in my room all the times, sometimes i like to move around from place to place, or when i visit my friends in NY i bring my laptop with me, but cant really play games much cuz this laptop lags quite a bit due to the combination of VISTA/no dedicated graphics card

Then buy a gaming laptop, just be prepared to pay a fortune for it.

lol hehe im not an extreme gamer, i only play like wc3 sometimes and i used to play WoW but stopped, i might play diablo3 when it comes out though, so i dont really need to get an amazing gaming laptop.

my laptop right now can run WoW not too badly, i have dual OS, i got XP on the other partition and on xp WoW is pretty smooth, only problem is when the computer gets a bit hot while running on xp, it shuts down on meh O.O, oh and, i have 2 gigs ram, answer to ddp's question.

its cool though, if i go into any intense games, i can always just hop on my desktop i guess. thanks for all the help guys

get a can of air or if you know somebody with an air compressor to give the laptop a blow job. also get a laptop cooler tray as the fan(s) of the tray will help keep the laptop cool. they cost about $15 to $30Can & gets it's power from the laptop usb port.

OoooOo ok, that sounds good, idk what the heatsink is, but i cleaned my fan the other day =D (first time since i got it 2 years ago) and there was a friggin thing, i swear it must've been there ever since i bought it, it was like a sponge-like something, it was definitely not a buildup of dust, it was a little more uniform than that. but my computer was heating up like crazy before that, now (for the past week basically) its pretty cool.
does the computer heating up also cause system slowness?
