help a poor noob please!

I downloaded some videos and it says the type of file is "video clip" instead of the usual mpg or whatever and it won't run with divx, quicktime or windows media player can someone hepl please

Sounds like it might be a problem with your codecs.

 

use vlc player its free an no need for codec vlc will basicly play anything reason why its used by so many ppl........

 

You need a codec checking utility. Here's one, and there are others:
http://www.xpmaximized.com/archives/codec-checker-utility.html

They will tell you which codec you need to install to be able to play your video.
