A little bit of advice needed please gents. I have backed up a dvd to my hard drive using dvd decrypter in files mode. As the resulant files are less than 4.38gb I'm simply copying them into the VIDEO_TS folder which Nero automatically creates when creating a new dvd video. Nero then writes the DVD and I get a sucessful burn message each time using Bulkpaq discs and burning at 1 speed. The problem is that the resultant DVD will not play in any of my dvd players (Computer Rom, X-Box, JVC & Toshiba) with the exception of the piracy warning at the beginning of the disc. It does however play on my Panasonic SW-9571-CY DVD writer. This suggests to me that the Nero is not finalising the disc but I've checked my settings and can't see anything wrong (and I've made sure the No-Multisession box is checked). I'm sure I'm missing something obviuos but don't know what. Help Please!!_X_X_X_X_X_[small]Cheers Jim[/small]
if the film doesnt need encoding why dont you use decrypter to write your disc. mode-iso-read then mode-iso-write thingimijig.
I'd use these steps.... Rip with DVDdecrypter Compress with DVD2one Burn with Stomp RecordNow (many people use Nero for this last step) Also you might want to look at switching over to Windows 2000 or XP. If you have enough RAM to run a DVD burner then you are wasting it on Win98. (Win98 doesn't handle amounts over 128 MB very well.)
Thingimijig? Why would one want to encode a movie? How would I do that using dvdecrypter and DSVD2ONE and RecordNowMax with Pioneer A05 burner? I am really really dumb, so if you answere this, please make it simple. Thanks
encoding and transcoding do the same job, they both make the movie small enough to fit on a dvd-r. rip the movie only in file mode in decrypter. dvd2one is self explanitary. as for burning, when dvd2one has finished put the new files in a folder called VIDEO_TS and create another folder with nothing in it called AUDIO_TS in recordnow do a new data job and drag in the 2 folders you just made and burn. thingimijig.
