I'd like to backup my Sims 3 game. I used IMGBURN to do it. I ended up with a .iso file and a .mds file. i mounted the iso file to my virtual drive and installed the game perfectly. I then proceeded to play the game and right before it finishes loading, i get an error message. It says DISC AUTHORIZATION FAILURE "We are unable to verify that your disc is a valid copy of Sims 3. Please contact customer service" then boots me.
Well, if you're just backing up the game, as you claim, go ahead and put the original disk in the drive and that should solve all of your problems. If you don't have a disk, or are insistant on bypassing EA's anti-piracy measures, then well, I only have one thing to say: "Yaarg, I be smellin' a pirate, and ye best be shuttins ye mouth before a moderator catches ye --- arrrrgh." lol
