Hi, Background Story: I recently acquired Swap Magic 3.8 with Coder. Yesterday, I removed the cover and followed the instructions to open the disk drive using the slide tool. As expected, it easily slid open. However, I could not get any PS2 dvd backups to boot using the CD version and my DVD version does not read. (regular ps2 dvd games do read.) Problem: Today I tried to open my drive using the slide tool, but it got stuck with the 3.8 cd version inside. I managed to pry it open and remove the cd. Now it is in a semi open state and refuses to close. It can move slightly more open and slightly more closed but never fully in either direction. How do I get the Disk drive to open and close properly again? Additional Concerns: Will the store I purchased my Swap Magic from (Allmodchip.com) exchange my DVD swapmagic? Is my cd swap magic broken? It can't load PS2 dvd backups. I haven't had a chance to try PS1 or PS2 cd backups because the drive broke. Also does sony still offer new PS2s in exchange for the broken PS2 and $45? Thank you for you help.
I managed to fix the problem of the stuck PS2 drive by fully forcing the PS2's drive open and then pressing the Eject button to close it. I still have one more question. Is my DVD Swap Magic broken if it doesn't load on my PS2 but other ps2 dvd original games do load?
