    Hello,

I have downloaded Age of Empires III, it contains 3 disks which includes:

    rld-aoea .bin & .cue
    rld-aoeb .bin & .cue
    rld-aoec .bin & .cue

I'm trying to copy them to CD, but I seem to be having a problem with CD1 (rld-aoea), it keeps comming up with this message; "1607: Unable to install InstallShield Scripting Runtime." after I've copied it. I have tried copying both the .bin and .cue files aswell as using ISOBuster and extracting the files from them and then copying it.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to copy this great game to CD so it can run off the CD it would be apprecitated.

Mount CD1.bin and check the files. Are you sure it is not a wrong copy? It seems that the installer cannot be run (either because it cannot be extracted from CD1 or cannot be coopied on your HD).
Once I found, on an apparently working image, that the date of the files was 2051!

I have mounted all 3 images (with D-Tools) and the game works/runs fine, the only problem is with CD1 when I try and burn it to a CD. Maybe there is a protection on Disk1 which isn't letting me copy it to a CD (some say its smarteCD protection), if it is how would I get past that?

I would prefer the game to run off a CD than having to dump the images to the CD and mounting them when I would like to play the game.

I seem to have figured out my own problem.

If any of you downloaded Age of Empires III and want to copy it on to a CD here is what you do:

Well basically when I downloaded the game it contained 6 files, 3 of which were the .bin files and the other 3 were the .cue files. I firstly mounted them and installed the game and did a test run to see if they would work and they did. I then uninstalled the game and tried to copy the .bin files to CD which didn't work (well CD1 didn't work due to that right protection) I then tried with the .cue files and still no luck.

    After reading a post by another user saying;
"I ran A-Ray Scanner v2.0 to find out what kind of protection it has.
Apparently it contains the smarteCD protection which I understand is difficult to break through without massive read errors."

"I did some research on SmartE, and it turns out that the only thing to do is to ignore errors while reading. Just select "Safedisc" (NOT "Safedisc2/3") when making an image with Alcohol. No need to read sub-channels, neither DPM data."

But how could I make the image if I don't have the CD with me since I've downloaded it? Well I mounted the Image with Daemon Tools (D-Tools), and then used Alcohol 120% to make an image (Alcohol makes .MDS image file), I then used Alcohol again to burn the image to a CD and it worked fine.

    Alcohol 120% - http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_tools/alcohol120.cfm

    Daemon Tools - http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/daemon_tools.cfm
