Erhm...I bought my wii and it was modded for me and the seller didn't tell me the name of the chip (cause no one really cared...) I've been wandering this section of the forum and theres all this talk about mod chips and stuff...upgrades....stuff... so i just wanted to know =] my wii is jap and is at 3.00..the upgrade thingy, forgot wat its called it can play US gamecube games without the swap thingy jp backups work fine, but us ones dont work so fine; i only got splinter cell working (the US version) the other ones have the update thingy once i click the spinning CD icon on main menu and im afraid of bricking once i update so i never took the risk, though i wanted to a few billion times. er........I bought the wii around 2 months ago.... along with the mod chip... if this info isn't enough, and there is info i can give without breaking my wii apart, i would be glad to give it, but if this isn't enough info, then it doesn't matter...... you can't really tell which modchip it is just from the facts on how it works(well... for my knowledge) so i'm bassicaly i'm gonna tell you this in a straight-forward way.... no we can't figure out what kind of modchip you have based on the facts you just told us. just contact the seller again and ask him your quistion.
