I have a Sony 650W 5.1-Ch. Home Theater System with 5-Disc Progressive-Scan DVD/CD/MP3 Player (model # DAV-BC150). I have had it for about a month and recently started backing up my DVDs with a dvd burner using dvd shrink/dvd de-encrypter. Until last night, everything worked fine. However, while watching a burned dvd, it all of a sudden skipped to another track and began to look all "pixelated". I removed the disc and put in a non-burned dvd and it did the same thing. I tried cleaning the lense and that worked for a little while. Some of the burned dvds don't play, the screen on the dvd player just reads "Reading" and does nothing. Its weird how all of a sudden if started doing this. Any suggestions? I am using a Plextor 16X burner and 8X FujiFilm DVD-r discs.
Hey mat I have a sony to did the same as yours I switched to +r media fixed just about everything. Only having problems with 2 movies now. but it's a vob problem not a burn problem
I will definately try switching to DVD +R, thanks for the suggestion. Also, what speed do you burn at? I think I've been at 8x. Did your mess up play back with normal discs too? I tried playing a normal disc and it seemed to get messed up, when it never did that before....
killerzip, the dvd +r's worked perfect (so far...*knock on wood*), thanks a lot for the advice. I was also able to burn at 8x instead of 4x and it worked...(bonus!)
